Silhouettes for Every Moment
The collection ranges from short, fitted models to long, enveloping jackets, with the same leather across different shapes.
Sofia — in black, tan, dark brown and blue — is the most versatile model: worn with jeans or over a dress without changing register. The Chiodo Donna reworks the biker jacket in a feminine key, shorter and softer, with the asymmetric zip that remains its signature.
Irene, in the short and long versions, has a sober line and a mandarin collar: worn over a dress or on its own. The Blazer Rose in suede is the most formal model in the collection, for those looking for a leather jacket that also works in the office. Alongside it are the Gaia Bike and the safari jackets, with more enveloping cuts for the mid-seasons.
Colour as a Considered Choice
Black remains the base: it goes with everything and is the colour that changes least over time.
Dark brown, tan and cognac are the warm tones, the ones the leather takes on most naturally and on which the patina shows best. Blue, green and Florentine red are for those looking for a less usual colour. Cream and beige close the range on the lighter tones.
Whichever colour you choose, genuine leather changes slightly with use: it darkens at points of contact, catches the light where it folds. This isn't a flaw, it's the normal behaviour of a living material — and also the simplest way to tell genuine leather from leather that's been treated to look like it.
Leather and Craftsmanship: What Sets Barone Apart
The material is half the work. We use nappa leather for the smooth jackets, soft and even in texture; suede for the velvety surfaces; nubuck where a matte, slightly rough hand is needed. The choice changes the garment more than the model does: the same shape in nappa and in suede gives two different jackets.
The other half is the workmanship. The stitching, the hand-finished edges, the linings fitted and sewn one by one: these are the points where a garment gives way first if the work was rushed. Every jacket requires days of workmanship and a manual check before it leaves the workshop.

The workshop was born in Florence in 1993, and the method hasn't changed since: the leather is chosen before the model, the work proceeds unhurried, every garment is checked before it goes out.
Our artisans in Tuscany know which part of the hide goes on the front of a jacket and which on a sleeve, because the same leather doesn't behave the same way everywhere. It's a craft you learn by standing alongside those who already practise it, and it can't be passed on any other way.
