Men's Clothing: Simplicity and Craft
There's a way of dressing that doesn't need explaining. A white linen shirt, trousers that fall well, a cotton t-shirt that after three summers is still in its place in the wardrobe. This is the men's wardrobe we've been making in Florence since 1993: shirts, trousers, t-shirts and outerwear in natural fabrics — linen, cotton, linen-cotton blend — chosen even before the model and sewn in our workshops in Tuscany.
The collection is built from a few simple choices: fabrics of good density, neutral colours that go together, cuts that stay current even once the season is over. Pieces designed to live together in the same wardrobe, and to last more than one summer. Made in Italy not as a label, but as an address: our workshops are in Florence, and they always have been.
Basics: What Works
T-shirts are the starting point for everything else. The Barone Embroidered T-Shirts, in black, white, blue and camel, are combed cotton with a small, thread-embroidered detail. The printed versions — Vespa, Aeroplano, Mongolfiera, Frog, Dog, Elefante — come from illustrated designs: they have their own character, one that doesn't depend on the season in which you bought them.
The textured cotton polo, in blue, white and hazelnut, has an open weave that lets air through: worn at the beach in the morning and at the office in the afternoon without ever looking out of place. The melange gilet is lightweight, and comes in useful on in-between days, when a t-shirt alone isn't enough.
Shirts: Light and Hard-Wearing
The linen shirt is the piece where the quality of a fabric shows immediately. If the linen is too light it gives out after the first few washes; if it's too stiff it never softens. We choose medium densities, the kind that settle into the right crease at the first wash and keep it for years.
The Linen Shirt is available in white, beige, sky blue, chocolate and military green: five colours that go with any trousers in the collection. The Korean-Collar Linen Shirt drops the classic collar for a cleaner, slimmer line, suited to those who wear it open over a t-shirt. The Striped Linen Shirt adds pattern without becoming loud. 100% linen for high summer, linen-cotton blend if you want to wear it in the mid-seasons too.
Trousers: The Base of a Considered Style
Four models, four different ways of wearing the same fabric.
The Elasticated Linen Trousers — blue, white, chocolate, green — are for those who want comfort without giving up on style: an elasticated waist and a soft fall, comfortable even while travelling. The Buttoned Linen Trousers have a more defined fit and pair better with a shirt when something a little more formal is needed. The Striped Linen Trousers, in blue and beige, carry a visible but understated structure. The Melange Bluette Tailored Trousers are the most refined model in the collection, and wear well out of season too.
Safari Jacket and Coat: When the Everyday Becomes Layering
The Chocolate Linen Safari Jacket is the piece that holds everything else together: worn open over a t-shirt on summer evenings, closed over a shirt once September arrives. It covers, but stays light.
The Elegant Men's Coat in Blue Cashmere Blend, also in a Camel variant, is the proposal for winter, with the same attention to fabric that we bring to the lighter pieces. Neither one is a loud garment: they complete an outfit without needing to dominate it.
Thirty Years of Pieces That Work
Massimo Romolini opened the workshop in Florence in 1993. Since then the way of working hasn't changed: the fabric is chosen before the model, the sewing proceeds unhurried, every piece is checked before it leaves the workshop.
Our artisans in Tuscany know something that sounds like a paradox: a simple piece requires more craft than a complicated one. Choosing pure linen for a shirt means knowing how that linen behaves over time, how it ages, how it softens without losing body. It means never compromising on fabric density, colourfastness, or stitching.
It's work that goes unnoticed at first glance. It's noticed later, when a shirt bought six summers ago is still the one you reach for first. This, for us, is Made in Italy: not a wording on a label, but thirty years of choices made in the same place, by the same hands. Craftsmanship is family, it's culture, it's the future: for us, it means making pieces that last.
